Couture shapes the aesthetics he lives by

Marko Matysik was born in Malta in 1967. Most of his youth was misspent traveling the world with his Anglo-German hotelier parents, absorbing the minutiae of the globe-trotting life and gaining insight into luxury culture on an international scale. In 1985, he traveled to Italy to work for Claude Montana and Valentino and subsequently moved to London where he spent four years at St. Martins School of Art, gaining a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design. Since then, Matysik has worked in Paris and London in the world that is his passion, couture. After years working at the atelier of Victor Edelstein, Matysik gained the experience to form his own label, under which he continues to design for many international private haute couture clients.

More recently he launched the 'Marko' line, which was the result of a collection of super-luxurious accessories. The CoutureLab selection comprises exquisite belts - each piece is unique. The silk satin sash belts feature steel cut antique buckles that originate from the 1800s. The buckles are handmade in England using slices of semi-precious stones such as malachite sourced from The Congo, picture jasper from China, white amethyst from Uruguay and thunder egg agate from Oregon. The stones are set either in hand-hammered sterling silver or 24kt gold by leading English jewelers, before being mounted on a reversible strap of whip snake skin and soft calf suede, that is designed so that one size can be adjusted to fit all, men and women.
