Reworked vintage dress in an ikat-style print

“Just as new can become old, so vintage can become new,” is the mantra of Parisian label E2. Its specialism is unearthing rare and original couture pieces and subtly changing or totally transforming them into truly one-off designs. In gallery spaces, rather than on catwalks, is where these luxury creations are typically displayed.

E2's reworked Dior dress is exploding with joie de vivre. Ikat-style stripes in fuchsia, cobalt and ochre on gauzy silk are a summer riot; plunging neckline and delicately ruffled tie-ribbon collar accent the you within. To the front, vertical ribbons in a carefully matched fabric festoon the skirt section, conjuring gracefully layered volume. Hand-applied eyelets to seams, hems and drawstring waist enhance the fascination. A complete one-off, this item cannot be reordered.
